Mission Direct - Volunteers helping the world's poor

Why Mission Direct?

Mission Direct is a specialist in short term mission.  We offer you a unique blend of enabling you to make a direct personal impact in the lives of some of the worlds poorest people and discover so much more about yourself on the journey.

It's important for us to be accountable such that you will donate and/or volunteer. Mission Direct is different in 3 respects:

  • You see it all spent directly - 100% of all funds a volunteer raises, above their requested contribution, goes directly towards the project they are supporting.
  • Any age, no skill requirements -   you don't need skills or long time commitments, simply offer your vacation time for good and for God.  Volunteers can be of any age, so far we have taken ages 7 to 82.

  • A voyage of self-discovery and spiritual enrichment - enabling opportunities for multiple acts of personal kindness.
  • We don't control, own or operate projects -  We simply seek out partners already making a significant impact serving the poor people in their community and join them in it.
  • Christian ethos and welcoming of others -  led by Christians we share God's love in a practical way, enabling ordinary people, Christian and non-Christians to make a personal impact, connecting Gods people with Gods causes.

The Unique package

  • We offer a Kingdom perspective.  When volunteers visit they visit a range of partners and its not about selling Mission Direct.  This means we don't have the hidden agenda and encourage bi-lateral partnership.
  • One of the most significant benefits is the changed life of the Volunteer.  The effective project is a means to an end.  We are about deepening and envisaging all who go, expanding  worldview and vision
  • Those of no faith or on a journey where no commitment of faith is made have an opportunity to see things and meet people that will cause each to act meaningful questions.
  • Weedepend on our volunteers raising funds for the project
  • We take people out of their comfort zone to take risks, putting people in the way of opportunity
  • Team relay - by running a series of groups to the same communities, year after year be demonstrate our commitment to capacity building and love for the people.
