Mission Direct - Volunteers helping the world's poor

The oldest person to join a trip thus far was in his late 80’s. Many volunteers have been in their 70’s and for MissionDirect age is not necessarily a limiting factor, although there are some issues to consider. The pace of the journey together is not slow and tropical, humid heat can be a factor in some countries. Sometimes, our accommodation is air-conditioned, sometimes not. Please do call the Mission Direct office for specific information on climate or accommodation if you are unsure. Sometimes people decide to opt out of an activity to rest a bit. At the various work sites there are so many things one can do that are not heavily taxing, and you are encouraged to contribute at your own pace.   The youngest child to have come on a trip is 7 years old.  Please do call to discuss the suitability of the destination for younger children as we love families to come.
