Mission Direct - Volunteers helping the world's poor

Specialist Trips

Experience the ultimate job satisfaction!

marie my story

Do you have any specialist skills to share with some of the world’s poorest people?

Each year we send skilled volunteers to work alongside our overseas project partners sharing their knowledge and expertise with local people in Sierra Leone, Uganda, Moldova and elsewhere.

Well trained medical, IT or teaching professionals are in short supply in poor and marginalised communities. And you can help change that!

By volunteering two weeks of your time with a Mission Direct specialist team you can share life changing skills with local nurses, doctors or teachers who are eager to learn. And, you can have a life-changing experience too by living and working amongst the poor.

Take a look at our list of specialist team opportunities and consider if you, or anyone else you know, would benefit from a trip like this.

Medical Missions

Are you an experienced healthcare worker? Nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals at hospitals, surgeries and clinics of Uganda, Zambia and Sierra Leone want to learn from you. By sharing your expertise with these professionals you are passing on a body of knowledge that will be used to heal and even save lives, long after you have returned home. No expertise in tropical medicines is required.

All About Mission Direct

Mission Direct gives ordinary people the chance to do extraordinary things around the world. In two weeks you will change the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. You can help to build a house, classroom or clinic. We discover people and groups doing remarkable things in their own countries. Then we provide them the people and resources that they need. We do this by enabling people like you, with two or more weeks to join our life-altering trips.
