Isaka
Isaka is a large railway terminal. Goods brought up by rail from the coast are transferred to lorries there and taken onward to Burundi and Rwanda.
There was a small group of Christians meeting together in a school before Thomas Kachila was sent there. He has struggled with this congregation, and has had some discouragements as some key people have moved away because of work. At the end of June he had a congregation of 38 adults and 38 children. They have been given a site to build their own church building but have problems as some people are illegally occupying it at the moment.
However Thomas has not been put off by these things. He has started a new congregation at Kagongwa, about two hours by bicycle from Isaka on the main road. At the end of June this congregation had 10 adult believers and 7 children, of which 4 adult converts have been baptised. He was planning an evangelistic meeting in Isaka during October.
