Sikonge
Sikonge is a small town and is a centre of regional district government. It has a busy market, a bus service, and a Moravian mission hospital. An electricity supply is being constructed from Tabora and with its completion the town is expected to grow and develop rapidly. It is also the location of the first Church that we are planting south of Tabora. Consequently Sikonge has great strategic importance in the expansion of the work of spreading the Gospel in the southern part of the Diocese.
Dismas Ezekiel, who is also a gifted musician, was sent there and gathered together a core of 7 Anglicans, most of which worked in local government. By August he had 25 adults and 19 children attending Church. He has also just started two more congregations in surrounding villages - in Mlogolo where in August there were 9 adults and 5 children, and Mkolye started in September with 5 adults and 2 children. Dismas said, "Please pray for us as the work is continuing to expand and the number of believers increases"
They have received some financial assistance from the USA to build a Church and have started to dig foundations, collect materials and make bricks. Bishop Francis will lay the foundation stone in November when he goes to lead a confirmation service.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine... to him be glory"! Ephesians 3:20
