We may not like talking about money, but when you add it to prayer and people, it does make mission happen! In 2001 Crosslinks' income from all sources (churches, individuals, investments, legacies and that mysterious category "other") rose handsomely, so thank you to the readers of this magazine for your contribution to this outcome. However expenditure rose and we were left £155,000 short - which had to come out of reserves. The stock market fell during the year, so the value of our investments fell, depleting our reserves still further. Our liquid assets are now down to about one month's running costs.
The upshot is that we need to raise £7 in 2002 for every £6 we raised in 2001 to avoid the need for drastic surgery. So please pray that the money will be forthcoming to enable Crosslinks to grow, rather than shrink. And if you could make an increase in the level of your support for Crosslinks in 2002, it would help us towards this challenging target.
