Final whistle blows on holiday clubs

"'Believe in Jesus, join God's team, the greatest team you've ever seen!' The team shout for 2002 reflects our desire to see children and young people become excited about 'being on God's team'...because joining that team is the most important and exciting decision that they will ever make." writes Helen Williamson, Crosslinks youth worker in Dublin. "We ran 12 holiday clubs across the Republic of Ireland during the Easter and summer holidays, reached almost 1000 children, and had the privilege of witnessing many of them committing their lives to Jesus. What a testimony to the Lord's faithfulness! Thank you for your prayers."
"Each club was unique in its own way - we kicked off the summer with 130 kids in Mountrath and a team of almost 30 people, thanks to a very enthusiastic bunch of parish helpers who came alongside the Crosslinks volunteers...the body of Christ in action. The Tallaght team worked tirelessly with 70 'lively' kids from the local housing estate, and in the wide parish of Dunboyne, the children travelled long distances to participate in the What's the Score? experience! This is only a snapshot of the activity and general madness of holiday clubs 2002!"
Join us in giving thanks for the safety and protection in travel and during the clubs, the provision of 74 dedicated team members from the UK and Ireland, and the openness of the children and their willingness to respond to the gospel message.
Please pray with us for follow-up in the parishes (weekend events and Sunday School training), the children who made a decision to join God's team, and for wisdom in decisions regarding holiday clubs 2003.
Roots Take Wings
The main all-Ireland celebration of Crosslinks' 80th birthday will take place during the weekend 24 -26 January 2003. Roots Take Wings will be held at the Glenada Conference Centre, Newcastle, Co. Down.
The programme will be varied, including Bible readings, seminars, visual presentations and reports from home and overseas. Guest speakers Martin and Elizabeth Goldsmith have been friends of Crosslinks for many years and have much to say about our effectiveness as Christians in the world today. There will be a separate childrens' programme and
crèche.

Thank you!
Andrew Farrer retired from his position as Crosslinks Financial Secretary in July. He and his wife Julia have written to say: "We were touched and humbled by the many cards, letters, and phone calls we received, and the lovely gift from the Crosslinks council and members. Thank you all so much. We were glad to serve the Lord through Crosslinks and pray He will continue to lead and bless us in an ever changing world which needs Jesus as much today as in the past."
