The Karamoja top-up fund for pastors
Karamoja, in Uganda, is a diocese which Crosslinks was instrumental in planting; and now we have been asked to help pastors there who are struggling to afford the basics of life.
The diocese can't raise enough funds to pay their full salaries, so Crosslinks has agreed to set up a top-up fund of £25 a month each for 22 pastors. The bishop of Karamoja, the Rt
Rev Peter Lomongin, is eager that Crosslinks should continue to provide in this way.
The area suffers from drought and continued lawlessness and banditry, and the nomadic
Karimojong people are still largely unevangelised. This is why it's vital to keep pastors able to serve in the rural areas without having their livelihood threatened.
Young people are disillusioned with the Church of Uganda either because they see the enormous disparity between the development work and the pastoral work or because they feel they've been denied a good education as their fathers have low paid positions in the Church.
Finally, theological education by extension (TEE) is doing sterling work, but we want to increase financial support to it.
If you can help, please contact Crosslinks, quoting KTF with your

OTHER PROJECTS
A Crosslinks' project might be just the thing to get your church more involved in mission!
Our projects are all connected with work that our mission partners are doing. Money raised will make a real, measurable difference.
Your church might be able to take on the full cost of one project, or you might like to take a share in one. It's up to you.
We also run a selection of other projects which might be of interest to you and your fellowship. Details of these are available from the Crosslinks London office, as well
here on the Crosslinks website.
