And Finally...

May 2003 Review index

I hope that this snapshot of Crosslinks excites you. These are very uncertain times in many ways. There are however some key certainties: that the Lord Jesus will return to bring everything to completion, and that in the meantime we should be active in His service, particularly in the Father’s plans that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth”.

Andy Lines - General Secretary

Crosslinks exists to help you fulfil God’s will for you while we “wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” His will for His people in terms of global involvement is not an optional extra but part and parcel of our life as Christians. We are part of something much bigger, the worldwide church, in this and every generation. What role does He have for you and your church in this new stage of the developing world scene?

Why not consider Crosslinks as a suitable vehicle through which to fulfil God’s will for you and your church? There are many ways of getting involved:

Prayer. We provide material for individual and corporate prayer in a variety of ways (the website, the accompanying prayer news, prayer line, prayer tape and through personal contacts and visits).

Voluntary Help. We always need voluntary help and never more than now. You could be just the person to help; as a Crosslinks Rep in your local church, as provider of honorary support in areas like Scotland and Wales, or providing one-off or regular help with your skills and expertise.

Direct Involvement. Have you considered offering yourself for service in the worldwide church, short-term or long-term, young or old, part-time or full-time?

Financial Support. The opportunities are as numerous as ever but they come at a price, especially with regard to mission partners. However, there are engagements to suit most sizes of pocket and we will endeavour to ensure that you are kept up-to-date with news and better able to support in prayer. Alternatively you could give us the freedom to put money where it is most needed as we seek to redress the gap between income and expenditure.

Whatever your Christian experience and your gifts, involvement in the world church is not an optional extra alongside other commitments in local church life. It is part of what being a Christian is about, and you might be surprised to find that you will gain far more than you give. Please do think seriously about how you can respond.
