Rosie and Dan Button

Rosie and Dan Button, who were working in Zimbabwe have now moved to Uganda. Originally they had thought that they would be going to South Africa, but over a period of some months God led them to accept an invitation to work as lecturers at Uganda Christian University. The college campus is in a small town called Mukono, 23 Km from the capital of Kampala. Rosie and Dan will be part of the first intake of missionary lecturers to the Theology Department, which has an evangelical tradition and a real vision for growth. Please pray for Rosie and Dan and their children Abigail and Alex; also for their African students training for Christian ministry.

Catherine Ellwood

Like the Buttons, Catherine was planning to go elsewhere, but God had other plans! Catherine worked as a teacher in the UK, and then in 1996 she went to Tanzania for two years to teach in an English-medium primary school run by the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza. Once back in England she continued to teach and then studied at Redcliffe College, gaining a diploma in Applied Theology last year. Until very recently she was expecting to go back to Tanzania to work at a Christian primary school in Dodoma. Now she is headed for Ethiopia to work at Bingham Academy, the inter-mission school in Addis Ababa. Please pray for Catherine as she adjusts to the new environment that God has led her into.

Rob and Clare Miles

Rob and Clare have gone out to Johannesburg, South Africa. Rob worked in the UK as a teacher and Clare qualified as a midwife. Both studied Biblical and Inter-cultural Studies at All Nations Christian College. In Johannesburg Rob will be working with Melville Union Church, assisting the pastor with special services and outreach amongst the students of the city’s three university campuses. Initially Clare will concentrate on settling the family and especially their two children Hannah and Zoe, but where possible she hopes to become involved in the church and Rob’s student work. Please pray for the family, especially for Hannah who’s blood disorder though stable, will need treatment in the future.
