Over half of the people of Togo are
animists. There is also an increasing
Muslim influence in the country. Many
mosques have been built and Muslim
countries are investing heavily in Togo.
With this spiritual context in mind, they
will be working with a Togolese church
called Ministère International de Jésus
(M.I.J.) and taking part in:
Bible teaching and evangelism training
Street outreach; evangelistic events
Alpha and marriage courses
Working with others to establish
a church in Dapaong.
Over the last few years Sena and Jane
have been working at the Eglise de
Belleville in Paris. Sena has been
leading youth and student work and
Jane has been leading Alpha and
discipleship courses. They have two
young children, Joshua and Eloise.
Departures & Arrivals
The Benthams are leaving
Crosslinks in January 2004.
After being Mission Partners in
Zimbabwe, the family are moving
to Chile in February where Ben
will become the chaplain of the
Anglican church in Viña del Mar.
After completing postgraduate
studies in Kenya, Afri and Pam
Chandra will be stepping down
as Mission Partners. Afri will be
Pastor and Evangelist of an Asian
congregation attached to Streatham
Baptist Church in London. Afri and
Pam hope to become Crosslinks
Associates.
Stephanie Kenny who worked
for Crosslinks in Belfast for over
20 years left at the end of November
for a new job with the Northern
Ireland Civil Service.
Jeremy Wainaina joined the
SMILE team in November.
Just visiting
From South Africa, The Symes are back
until January. Andrew teaches at the Bible
Institute of the Eastern Cape and Camilla
is involved in HIV/AIDS work.
From Tanzania, Jo Sayer (Msalato Bible
College), Carol Derbyshire (Dodoma
Language Institute) and Martin & Sue
Fannon (Diocese of Mara Vocational
Training Centre) will be visiting the UK
during the first few months of 2004.
