This
film is definitely not for everyone, even those over 18, and no
one should feel guilty if they haven’t seen it nor want to.
That said, my wife and I found it very moving and thought
provoking, and it has certainly instigated conversations. Many
churches were mobilised to hand out explanatory leaflets. At
one local Odeon 50 leaflets were distributed with the comment “This
will help you understand what you have just seen.”
Unfortunately they were given to people leaving “Scooby Do
2”! There is a point to this: one definitely has a message
worth telling and the other not (I’ll let you guess which is
which!). As others have remarked, the main negative feature
of the film is the fact that it is a film, inevitably focusing
on the physical side and our insatiable appetite for the
visual. “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet
have believed”.
