No, I’m not going to write about Star Trek! Crosslinks has always been about bold
ventures in mission, driven by the command “to make disciples of all nations”
(Matthew 28:19), and not afraid because we go in God’s strength, not ours.
After the Balkans conflict, much mission effort seemed to favour Croatia and
Bosnia and neglect Serbia. “Despatches from Serbia” tells how, despite
many difficulties, mission partners Rob and Tricia MacCurrach are bringing
the message of Jesus Christ to Serbia’s needy people.
In 1988 Jenny Merritt began working with deaf children in Ethiopia even though
she had to operate in the local language. "God’s Word to the Deaf" shows
how, as a result, hundreds have experienced Christian love and teaching.
Bold ventures don’t just involve overseas countries but challenges at home.
In “The Plant Takes Root” read how Crosslinks is providing recognition and
prayer support for a radical new initiative in evangelism bringing the Good News
to Manchester’s 85,000 students.
Graham
Sopp
From the General Secretary, Andy Lines:
We are sad to announce that this will be Graham Sopp’s last editorial as he leaves Crosslinks to
become National Director of the International Bible Society. We are sorry to lose Graham after all he
has done for Crosslinks, but grateful to God for his time with us and pleased that someone of his
gifting and character is going to IBS. We wish him, Rachel and the children well for this next stage.
