The money comes in and goes out, but can you tell us more?
Here are some of your questions.

How are mission partners coping with the fully-funded policy?

They have worked very hard with home staff to ensure commitments equal their budgets. About 12 are not there yet; staff have made them priorities and are actively seeking out new churches, individual supporters and trusts.

What happens if more is given than they need?

The surplus will be carried forward to the next year. At the end of their time, unless by prior agreement, the surplus will go into the General Fund for use in other areas of mission expenditure.

How do I know how much more they need?

Mission partners receive regular reports and the information is available from the London Office. Please contact us.

Why is so little spent on study partners?

Study partners are very good value for money. £1,000 pays for a year’s study at Bible school in East Africa, and fees in India are even lower. However we want to increase this budget to enable more people to receive training in their own countries.

What types of projects are supported by grants?

Some are areas where Crosslinks has traditionally worked but at present has no mission personnel, such as Myanmar or the Diocese of Karamoja in Uganda. Others involve encouraging new work, such as a church training project in Serbia; or providing theological education by extension to train church leaders and their congregations.

How can I make my small donation go further?

If you are a tax payer, signing a Gift Aid Declaration will mean the Government tops up your donation by about 28%

Can I backdate my Gift Aid donations if I sign up now?

Yes.

Does the Gift Aid go towards the same fund as my original donation?

Yes.

I’d rather not receive appeals for money.

Tell us so (lblake@crosslinks.org) and we will mark your record accordingly.

What are your aims for the next year?

  • To achieve secure funding for all mission partners
  • To use money in the General Fund previously going to mission partners to increase our expenditure on study partners and grants
  • To improve our reporting and control over expenditure.
