Mary Higginson

Mary joined the home staff as Pastoral Director in 1998. Her 14 years as a mission partner gave her an understanding of Crosslinks, its mission partners and the overseas Church. Her gifts in pastoral care and counselling, her understanding and involvement in the lives of the partners and her awareness of the need for good practice have helped us to build up a strong Mission Personnel team. Under her leadership the team has developed the
short-term teams, tightened up the study partner structures and brought the element of good practice into all areas of the mission partner and associate programmes. Prayer is an important part of all activities.
Mary retires in August but will continue to use her counselling gifts in another
area. We wish her every blessing.
Jo Sayer has been appointed as the new Mission Personnel Leader.
Melanie Lacy

Mel was appointed Ireland Team Leader in 2002. Her three years in post have opened up new areas, such as short-term teams visiting the Arctic, Uganda and Kenya. The Under-30’s Ball introduced many of the ‘missing generation’ to the work of Crosslinks. Her faithfulness to the Gospel and her gift of administration led her to introduce new structures for the preparation of material for the annual camps. She has moved on to youth ministry in Knutsford and we wish her every blessing. Please pray for the appointment of her successor.

Afri Chandra

Afri had a burning zeal for sharing the Gospel. His longing was that everyone, especially those from the Asian community, should have the chance to hear about Jesus Christ’s love and forgiveness. From 1991 he served with Crosslinks in Birmingham, Kenya and back in the UK. During this latter period he battled with serious illness and died on 13 May 2006.
As we rejoice that he is now with his Lord, please pray for Pam, Simeon, Judah and Benji.
