Schools of Biblical Training - Testimonies

July 2006 index

Any school is only as good as the benefits derived by the pupils. Here are just some of the testimonies we have recently received from SBT pupils…

From Myanmar

“As one who has benefited from your seminar in Yangon, greetings to you in Jesus’ name. I have already multiplied what I learned into seven by sharing with seven students. That seminar woke a gift which had been hidden for many years. During my college days I once gained a prize for speaking. But I did not have the knowledge to teach how to preach a good sermon. Thank you for your seminar that showed me the need of biblical sermons in Myanmar. I am now impatient for next January when you will come back. I have already started the work I am planning to show you.”  - Rev V V U, Yangon

“I can’t thank God enough for the teaching you gave. Now, every time I am in the pulpit, it seems that you are beside me and what I preach is according to what you taught.” - Minister of a big church, Yangon

From Tanzania

Paul Hunter reports: “Over 150 people came from all over Tanzania (some had taken three days to get here) and we spent a week together learning the basic principles of biblical preaching. This involves finding the meaning of a particular reading and applying it to our lives today. Local preachers can take these principles and use them in their sermon preparation, applying them in ways that are appropriate to their own culture. All the people who came thoroughly enjoyed it.”

“How good it is that so many people could come from so many different places and denominations and be one with each other as we studied the Bible together.” - Charles

“The seminar has enabled me to see more in God’s Word.” - Jackson

“The good thing is that I can train my fellow leaders in these principles so that all of them can improve their preaching.” - Emmanuel

“Over the week, I’ve received a challenge to spend more time with God in preparation for my preaching and teaching.” - Kesia
