Morogoro
“Please convey our sincere gratitude to Crosslinks for their support which has enabled many ministers to bring the Gospel to the unreached and plant many churches.” Revd. Canon Himily Lumambo, CHUMO Director and former Crosslinks study partner.
The Morogoro Bible Extension Training Institute (CHUMO) equips Christians to take the good news of our Lord Jesus to those who have never heard it. Canon Lumambo says of the work “A very important and exciting part of each course is the field work in which our students travel to the unreached areas with the aim of planting new churches.”
Himily Lumambo sums up: “In all, there are 33 new churches planted with many people worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ. We have trained 20 pastors and 131 evangelists, some coming from other parts of Tanzania. We thank God who enabled us to work among the unreached and have converts for our Lord.”

Tabora
“Let me express my heartfelt gratitude for helping this ministry of planting churches in Tabora Diocese which has made a great impact.” Elias Chakupewa, Diocese of Tabora Mission and Evangelism Director and former Crosslinks study partner.
The planting programme in Tabora began in 2000 with 20 trained local missionaries aiming to plant 20 new churches each year. Through Crosslinks, Tabora has received the vital prayer and financial support it needs.
A pattern developed where people in an area came to know the Lord through the work of an evangelist, a church was planted and in due course became a parish with a pastor.
In 2006, 11 evangelists and 7 pastors were trained and local missionaries were sent to 12 more villages. There are now about 40 church plants and the work continues.
Elias Chakupewa asks: “We would still like your prayers and support as we visit the newly created churches to conduct open air meetings and home-to-home visitations. Please extend our thanks to all at Crosslinks who have been tirelessly praying for this ministry.”
