You and your giving from overseas Thank you for all that you do to support Crosslinks in taking God’s Word to God’s World. This sheet helps you to give in the most effective way if you would like to give from outside the UK. There are different charges incurred according to the way you give. Although Crosslinks pays these charges it is helpful to know what they are so that you can make an informed decision about how to give. Internet You can give at on-line in Euros, Pounds Sterling or US Dollars using a credit or debit card through a secure facility run by Charities Aid Foundation in conjunction with PayPal. Accepted cards are Visa, Delta, Switch, Eurocard, JCB or Solo. If you want to donate to a specific project or Mission Partner please email finance@crosslinks.org with your designation. The card charges are absorbed by PayPal but there is a small administration charge. Post You can send us your credit or debit card details along with the expiry date (and a start date and issue number for some cards) along with the cardholder’s address. There is a 2.5% charge for credit cards and a charge of 29p for debit cards. Accepted cards are Visa, Mastercard, or Switch. Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and Sovereign Giving Charity Cards attract no charges. Telephone You can give using your credit or debit card over the telephone. It is best to call between 9.30 and 16.30 local time Monday to Friday. Remember that daylight saving time adjustment may apply during the northern hemisphere’s summer. Our prayer meetings are at 10.30 until 11.00 but you can leave a message and we can call you back in office hours. See the information under ‘Post’ heading for the accepted cards and charges. Cheque We can accept cheques in all major foreign currencies that are not subject to Exchange Controls by your local administration. The cheque is converted at the exchange rate prevailing at the time it is presented. The bank sometimes levies a charge to Crosslinks for this currently £5 for US dollars and £8 for other currencies. …and finally If you are paying a sufficient amount of UK income tax you can still Gift Aid. This makes the donation worth an extra 28p for every pound. This is useful since the Gift Aid could more than cancel out the charges and help stretch your donation. Any Questions?
