Pray for the many displaced people and those who have been bereaved as a result of the fighting. S2 Pray for the Anglican Church of Kenya and for the Archbishop, Rt Revd Benjamin Nzimbi. Pray that the church will speak out for justice and peace, and that Kenyan Christians will be examples and witnesses to the fact that in Christ, there is no division between tribes. 3 Pray for Tim and Gertrude Wambunya with their three sons who moved to Nairobi in January. Tim is Principal of Carlile College. However people from Saudi Arabia came to Dapaong with a lot of money and bought the radio station. This means that the station will now be for Muslim outreach only. Please pray for this sad situation. 13 Please pray for Sam Hopwood, a SMILE volunteer who left England to work in Dapaong, Togo for four months on the 26th January. 16 The main public event in Nigeria this year was the election, which went relatively peacefully, in spite of a chaotic computer registration system. The new President is a devout Muslim, who was a good State Governor. He has already reversed a number of the corrupt decisions of the previous administration, but it is a tough job. Please pray for Nigeria especially that they spend their increased revenues from the current high oil prices wisely, begin to tackle corruption, and end fighting in the delta. S17 Please pray for Ulric and Annabel Gerry with their three children in Abuja. Annabel is working for DFID and Ulric has recently been licensed by the Archbishop and is leading an Anglican church for expatriates in their home. He may also get involved later this year with training local lay readers. 18 Please pray for study partner, Dauda, who is currently studying a Postgraduate degree at Edinburgh Centre for Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies and will be finishing his course in 2009. 19 Please pray for the development of the Schools of Biblical Training that Crosslinks run. Pray for the future of this programme and thank God for all those who give up their time to go overseas and teach the church leaders and lay people in the different countries where Crosslinks works.
