Mission Direct - Volunteers helping the world's poor

UK Office Volunteers

Volunteering in our Luton Based Office

We need your help in Mission Direct’s UK offices. If you have time available please ring Jackie Johnston, our Senior Volunteer Manager, on 01582 720056 and arrange to come and visit us.  If you have computer or other skills and if you are available to be called upon to help with specific things we would really appreciate your help.

If you can offer regular help e.g. one day a week , please get in touch with us.  We need your help with the following:

Office_Volunteer

PA to the Chief Executive – If you have such a skill and could commit a day or two a week, Mission Direct’s Chief Executive Nigel Hyde would like to hear from you.

Data Entry – we use a windows based database which is easy to operate. With a bit of instruction you could help keep our donor and volunteer records up to date

Sorting Photos –We get sent thousands of photos from our volunteers and leaders. We need someone with an artistic eye to sort through them, and spot the gems that we can use in our promotional materials.

Research – There are a number of trusts who may be prepared give money to our cause.  Will you help us find out who they are?  This work can be extended to helping us write applications.

Communicating – There are many places where it is possible to promote Mission Direct, for instance placing  literature in Conference centres and guest houses. If you feel you would be able to assist us with these opportunities, please let us know.

Prayer Co-ordinator – we need someone to be office-based who can help develop our desire to engage people in praying for our work, its people and those we serve

Sorting Aid – We receive plenty of practical help in the form of education, medical and pharmaceutical supplies.  This material needs sorting and packing, as well as transporting the Mission Direct storage facilities, also in Luton.
