This year’s Christmas appeal provides supporters not only with the chance to give but also to send a message to children in a
centre for those with disabilities. Janet
Horsman, Deputy CEO, who helped to put the appeal together says:
"We wanted to provide a way for people to feel connected to the work that we do. I’d love to think of the reaction as these kids receive encouraging messages from people they don’t even know. What a great way to take God’s Word to God’s
World."
As with much of Crosslinks’ work there is a great deal to thank God for, but the appeal also looks honestly at the difficulties that workers at the centre face. Here is what one worker had to say: "I could pretend it is all easy going. Many children improve dramatically; some stay the same but a few get worse and even die. One boy died last summer, but not before I got the opportunity to pray for him and to tell him that the Lord loved him. He was loved, he was cherished and his mother got the support she
needed."
