Extracts from a Crosslinks draft proposal for joint partnership in mission with the Church of England in South Africa (CESA)

December 2001

  • CESA has already indicated a willingness to place accepted mission partner candidates from Crosslinks (Britain and Ireland) in suitable locations in Southern Africa.

  • CESA has also opened the possibility of our placing short-term mission personnel in the "Go" programme.

  • Crosslinks could help CESA in developing a selection procedure for their own mission partner candidates to serve in other parts of the world.

  • Crosslinks could help CESA in the area of cross-cultural training.

  • Crosslinks could offer CESA considerable guidance as to how to support effectively cross-cultural mission partners in other parts of the world.

  • Crosslinks could be involved in placing possible mission partner candidates from CESA in the many openings that are made available to us around the world, not least in Britain.

  • Crosslinks could be involved in placing study partners from all over Africa and beyond in the CESA George Whitefield College. There are possibilities of us being able to help out with the provision of lecturers for GWC. In addition to this, we could perhaps provide a second source of information on potential students applying for bursaries at GWC from countries and dioceses known to Crosslinks.

  • There are opportunities for us to place study partners from Portuguese-speaking African countries in George Whitefield College. We would also be keen to pursue other South-to-South links of that nature.
