Radio and TV can do it
It is true that radio, television and now the Internet - as well as the other printed and recorded media - can and do reach an unprecedented number of people.
But they are only part of the picture, don't forget that Jesus actually lived on Earth - he didn't just send a book... One very good reason for that is that the gospel becomes much clearer and much more convincing if you see it being lived. So warm bodies on the ground are still needed.
Another reason for needing Christians "in the flesh" to be spread round is that many people only come to a faith of their own after they are able to ask questions face to face.
Then, of course, someone has to design the mass media programmes. If they are just beamed from the West, with no influence from the "target" area they will not be answering those people's needs.
And there is also the fact that the people of *??* might be able to teach you and your church something - and how is that going to happen without some people making face to face contact?
