Prayer Update October 2005

Dear Everyone,

Thank you for your prayers for us over the last few weeks, and for your letters and financial support - we appreciate all of it very much indeed.

I am about to write our Quarterly Prayer Letter in the next few days, so this will be a brief bulletin – I hope you will receive our fuller prayer letter in the not too distant future!

Roundup

Again we have had a good, busy month. Dan managed to finish the timetable and all the accompanying tasks, like working out how many hours each lecturer teaches, based on the timetable, – which affects their salaries. Isn’t it funny how these jobs mushroom into something far larger than you ever anticipate… He has also been involved with the setting up of the Children’s Work course, and with producing a brochure to outline all the various courses of the Theology Department (now officially called the “Bishop Tucker School of Divinity and Theology”), for the purposes of recruiting students. As I mentioned last month, our Theology students are on placements this term. The lecturers will be going out to visit and assess them all during the term – which is quite an undertaking as they are scattered all over the country. I (Rosie) have spent some time this month on ordering and receiving books for our theology students and library. Abigail and Alex have been enjoying school, but they were both sick last week with a bad flu and temperatures. Alex is still poorly as I write. We celebrated Dan’s fortieth birthday this month, in style, putting him through a “Middle Age Ability Assessment” – poor Dan. (He passed.)

Prayer Requests

  • For the theology students doing church placements – for good learning experiences, spiritual growth, and fruitful ministry.
  • For the theology lecturers who will be visiting them on placement – for good relationships with the churches, and safety in travel.
  • For good health for Abigail and Alex.
  • For safety on the roads as we drive to school every day.
  • For the remaining planning for our trip to the USA, (we leave here on October 21st.)
  • For the trip – good reunions with Dan’s family and friends, safe travel, adaptability for the children as we move around, and for positive meetings with churches.
  • For my Rwandan prayer partner, Athanasie, that God would bless her as she cares for her four children plus several others, and as she studies her business degree at the university, that God will provide her and her husband Emmanuel (who is the Warden of male students at UCU) with the energy, enthusiasm and financial resources they need.

Thank you again! With our love and prayers,

Rosie Dan Abigail and Alex.
