Carson, Brian & Faye, KenyaNovember 2004 - Theology and Development course at Berea Theological College The Principal has set up a two year Certificate course in Theology and Development, including HIV/AIDS. The aim is to equip students for evangelism in these hot, dry and desperately needy areas where most people are still Animists. Brian and Faye write: "One of these men, Petero (above), has already started, and we have funding for him now for his course due to another amazing gift to cover his year 2. So we know God wants this to happen. [Petero is a spiritual young man with a heartrending testimony. Both parents died and left him the eldest of 10 so he's been supporting his 9 siblings with the help of one of the older Godly church women, one of the few gems from earlier evangelism. He became a Christian aged 15 and has been serving the Lord in his area as a 'volunteer evangelist' ever since.] Amongst the people who supported this project (Crosslinks project code NCP) was a rather unusual one: A vicar from Thorpe End, Norwich, Rev Michael Kingston (one of the Carson's support churches) did a sponsored trip by local buses from Lands End, Cornwall to John O Groats in Scotland. During the summer he raised nearly £2000 !
