“My help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth”  Psalm 121:2

Dear family,

Our faithful God has answered so much of your prayers. We were so comforted by the support given to us when Afri’s father passed away in February.

Ministry News:

Afri continues his ministry of assisting Streatham Baptist Church in pastoring their Asian congregation. He is encouraged to see the keenness in the fellowship. He has visited many in their homes to counsel and to witness. Many of the fellowship are recent arrivals to the UK.A lady named Michelle has received the Lord .He has started a weekly outreach around the church on Fridays. He was able to put his MA in Missions to good use teaching in the church missions weekend in May. He also had a good response to his testimony and sharing on Sky TV.

Ministry in Birmingham

When Afri comes back to Birmingham, both Pam and he run a discipleship group with Asians from a Sikh background. We also try to visit Asians and encourage converts in their often-difficult home lives. Afri is also supporting a weekly local follow –up of Jesus videos. We had a great Christmas celebration with a message about the real Christmas.

Pam’s Ministry

Pam is coping well as part time single parent, and boys are becoming domesticated. She also meets occasionally with some Asian women to counsel, pray. Much of her work is done on the phone and via e-mail. She is still seeking God for further ministry opportunities. A monthly slot in the Sunday school has opened up as well.

Children’s News

Judah and Benji Chandra    Simeon Chandra

They are busy with school and adjusting to life here. They help us with music in our groups and Simeon hopes to become involved with the church worship group.

We have become Associates with Crosslinks and they have opened a restricted fund for us for money received. We continue to have a good relationship with Crosslinks and will be involved in their Conference at Swanick.

Praise

  • Afri’s encouraging ministry in London

  • Opportunity for Afri to share on SKY TV

  • Pam and boys coping well in Birmingham

Prayers

  • God to water seeds of Gospel from Afri’s visit to India, Sky TV and preaching

  • The Asian converts in Birmingham to persevere in their faith as they are tested in difficulties at home.

  • We still need God’s guidance for the future and a full time Christian ministry. This is an important prayer item, as we have to exercise our faith in waiting on the Lord. There are some interviews in July

  • The Streatham fellowship will be eager to use their spiritual gifts to serve the Lord.

God bless and thanks for walking alongside and being there for us.
