Dear friends,

Since our inception 18 months ago, it has been our ambition to help plant
more Bible-centred churches in the North East. Well, there is now an
opportunity for us to play a small part, with others, in helping something
get off the ground in Teesside. We would love you to pray for this and
consider whether you know anyone in Teesside (Middlesborough, Stockton,
Hartlepool, Darlington) who may be interested in being linked up with it.

At the moment there is not a lot to go on except a terrific family who
desperately desire progress, a small group of Christians who may be
interested, and a good Christian Union at Queens Campus Stockton (part of
Durham University) at which Hugo speaks regularly. There are however half
a million people in the area and a clear need to establish a Bible centred
church to which one can bring friends without blushing.

As for Christ Church, we are full of praise to our Lord as summer
approaches. We are thankful that we have a church in which the Bible is
taught and applied to daily life, in which people are cared for, which is
genuinely engaging in evangelism, which prays and has a real concern for
the progress of the gospel elsewhere. More people are coming along and
the kingdom of God has grown for which we praise Him. We have great
plans for September which we will let you know about in due course.

However, we are still small and fragile and certainly not ‘established’. We
always feel that we could do with a few more Christians keen to learn and
serve so if you do know anyone moving to Newcastle over the summer, or at
the start of the academic year, and think that we could serve them, then
please put them in touch! We won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, yet are
confident that many will love CCH.
