Prayer Letter September 2007
Dear Friends,

Looking back with thanks
Over the summer we looked at some of the Psalms which express God’s character and what it means to know him. It made us more grateful to our wonderful God for his kindness in the gospel and the joy of knowing him in the ups and downs of life.
Judy Lawrence is our new women’s worker, she arrives on 12th October. Please pray that she would quickly settle in London, get to know the women in the church family and for much useful ministry.
The dialogue suppers back in June were a start, but with potential for many more next year when we hope to do a similar thing. Thanks that it helped some to think more creatively about their evangelism ‘would it be ok to have an event in the pub over a beer instead?’
A few people who helped us with the start up of Grace Church, together with three UCCF Relay Workers moved on over the summer. We are thankful for their partnership in the gospel and for the way in which the Lord has provided people to fill gaps at just the right time, e.g. 8 new Sunday School teachers this term.
And looking ahead - things to pray for through the week
Mondays: post-Christianity Exploded follow up course for 9 ladies
Tuesday mornings: Scallywags, our mums and toddlers group.
Tuesday evenings: Our small group bible studies studying a Bible Overview this year. Pray for a growing commitment to the gospel as we see Jesus in all the scriptures, and to each other. Once a month we meet to pray in lieu of the bible studies.
Fridays: morning bible overview for ladies.
Sunday mornings: Looking at John 5-10 through to Christmas and the work that Jesus has come to do.
Sunday late afternoon: youth group- thanks for a solid group committed to Jesus and to inviting friends.
Please also pray for the following events in particular;
- Friday 5th October: Rico Tice speaking at an evening guest event.
- Sunday 7th October: Christianity Explored starts on Sundays.
- Thursday 15th November: Mary Davis speaking at a women’s guest lunch.
- All Age carol service on 9th December and main Carol Service on 16th.
