Dear Friends ,
We will have Christmas in the UK, the New Year in Portugal and Easter in Mozambique. We are sad to be leaving Malawi but look forward to the new challenge of living in Mozambique a country recovering from wars, floods and extreme poverty which is experiencing economic growth. Andrew will be Infrastructure and Growth Advisor for DFID and Caroline will be seeking her role as a Crosslinks Associate Mission Partner.
What’s the news concerning-
ANDREW:
- Praise God for the Christian, David, who Andrew is handing over to in Malawi.
- Over 2,000 classrooms completed over 30,000 still needed
- Andrew and Caroline spend next week in Mozambique for a familiarisation visit and Andrew’s handover. Please pray for us.
- Another language to learn: Portuguese is essential for Andrews job.
ACTION FOR BEHAVIOUR CHANGE (ABC):
- ABC staff are feeling despondent as Caroline leaves.
- Pray for funding to come through. We have had a 4 month gap in funding from The National A.I.D.S. Commission. Praise God for a very large pledged gift which will achieve so much.
- The roof is going on the ABC building as I write- praise God.
- 35 young men came for H.I.V. testing on Saturday and all tested negative to H.I.V.
- “Friends of Action for Behaviour Change” is a team being set up to support and guide ABC in future.
THE FAMILY:
- Ruth is in her final year at York (watch this space).
- Anxious mother relieved to find that Alex arrived safely back from his adventures around Europe and is now experiencing freshers week at Durham University.
- Hannah is enjoying life as a sixth former at Dean Close
- praise God Eliza is beginning to enjoy school more.
- Please pray for us all leaving friends and work in Malawi and cleaving to God and what He will provide for us in the UK and Mozambique.
We are looking forward to a great Christmas holiday with the family, the grandparents and friends in the Cotswolds. We will be based in the UK from 8th December 2006.
