Prayer Update 22 January 2008

Things are becoming more unstable around us at the moment. An organised group of 2000 (unconfirmed!) torched many buildings in Molo yesterday - the number of deaths are not confirmed. In Elburgon two were killed yesterday for being the wrong tribe - pulled out of Matatu's panga'd and set on fire - bodies left outside the police station. We are on the road between Elburgon and Molo! We were able to get food in today, so we should be OK for the next few days if things don't settle down.

My workforce are really scared - especially if its true that the Mangiki Sect are mobilising against non-kikuyu's - Our workforce camp is all non-kikuyu so it could be a target again for attacks. Also the British Government have said that they don't recognise Kibaki's government - so Brits may no longer be seen as neutral by security forces...

The next few days could be interesting. I'm trying to get more armed police to reinforce the school. Pray that we do. Pray for safety.
