Dean & Paula write:
We are working with Helderberg Christian Church in Somerset West in the Western Cape. Dean is primarily working with Chris Nissen Park, a predominantly Cape Coloured community which is struggling with many social problems, particularly alcoholism and it’s attendant problems of domestic violence and child abuse. Dean’s aim is to see key men in the community saved and discipled enabling them to positively impact their own families and their community for Christ. The rest of Dean’s time is spent with the ‘Frontier Year Project’ and ‘Life Change Teams’.

Paula will initially take responsibility for settling the family in particularly ensuring that Joel does not experience too much trauma with the move. We’re both excited at the possibilities that lay before Paula and are grateful that she has not been tied down to a job description but rather is free to get involved in the areas that she feels God is leading her in. We’ll keep you posted on developments!

Interesting facts(!):-

We met through a mission in Sevenoaks many moons ago and have now been married for 13 years and recently blessed with Joel. Dean is a mad unicycler, juggler (balls, clubs and fire) and we both have a passion for Crystal Palace FC. Having colonised Zimbawe for the Red n’ Blue Army, it’s obviously time to move on and spread the word to other parts of Africa! We both always separately said that we felt called to serve God in the UK - God has a sense of humour!!

We are grateful for a team of churches, individuals and trusts that support the work of Crosslinks. In 2007 we are pleased to have the support of Irish Aid for the Finnies
