Planning

Under God and his Word we have our:

Constitutional Objective:
“The object of the Society shall be to preach the gospel to every creature in fulfilment of our Lord’s command, it being clearly understood that such preaching is the primary function of missionary enterprise, taking precedence over medical and other auxiliary ministries”

This has been explained in the September 2002:

Distinctive Statement:
“Crosslinks is an international mission agency with its roots in the Bible and its principal sphere of operations in the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Our prime focus is making Christ known through the proclamation and teaching of God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are enthusiasts for creative worldwide mission. Our slogan is ‘God’s Word to God’s World’…

Under this we seek in all we do to observe:

Two Fundamental Priorities:

Evangelistic Opportunities. We wish to engage in evangelistic opportunities to reach the unreached (eg people groups, other faiths communities, special interest groups etc) through all appropriate means (eg mission partners, indigenous mission etc.)

Training Trainers. Since it is the Gospel that produces and sustains churches, we aim to serve churches primarily of the worldwide Anglican Communion by nurturing competent, godly pastor teachers. To achieve this we resolve to focus our efforts on training, equipping and resourcing those who can teach others also.

Our current Means of realising these priorities are:

  • Mission partners.
  • Associate mission partners.
  • Study partners (BEST).
  • Grants (Projects).
  • Short-term mission (Smile, Challenge and Next).
  • Short-term Schools of Biblical Training.

Among our General Missiological Principles are:

  • Mission is mission wherever it takes place.
  • Our desire is to serve local churches wherever they exist.
  • We will always seek to foster local church ownership of mission engagements independent of Crosslinks.

We will seek to develop and keep updated mission strategies by country, ministry or region wherever we have engagements.
